Studio 6a was opened by Sharon Pallett in 2002. From the start, Sharon wanted to create more than just another ladies’ clothes shop. Studio 6a had three winning assets not found elsewhere:
1. Exclusive ranges of clothing and accessories
2. A commitment to personal, friendly service
3. Sharon and her staff (of course!)
Sharon’s motto was, “We offer style with a perfect fit from staff who care”.
Chris Bailey
After 4½ successful years, Chris Bailey bought Studio 6a in April 2007 to fulfill her dream of running her own shop and business.
Originally, Chris had been looking out for a clothing accessories shop … then, by chance, she heard about Studio 6A. Chris says,
“When I went to look at it (Studio 6a), I thought ‘Yes – it’s a must’, because it’s a lovely, cozy, warm shop.”
Chris understands the importance of atmosphere and ‘feel’ is, when making a shop like Studio 6a really work.
“There aren’t many independent clothes shops for ladies around. You can come in and get the personal service. You’re not rushed by lots and lots of customers like you are in the big stores.”
Chris has been building on a winning formula:
“I’ve added one or two more labels, a few more accessories, and a little extra lighting … and that’s all, really.”
And Chris’ customers?
“Are from every walk of life, and looking for something different and individual.”
Relationships are so important in making any small business a success, so Chris was delighted to retain Jan Russell on the staff at Studio 6a. Jan had worked with Sharon Pallett at Studio 6a for many years, and is a firm favourite with the regular customers. Chris says Jan’s friendly and helpful approach is a real asset in a retail operation.
